Quote for Today

“Literature is humanity talking to itself.”

Even if only the author reads his creation, it's still almost a conversation -- rereading things I've written previously (years ago) has some of the same feel as reading someone who is new to me. And since we change through the years, the discussion we have with a given book can change. A book can seem utterly eye-opening and compelling at one point in our life, but void of real content years on. A book that was previously silent can suddenly give insight after our own experiences have opened our eyes, so to say.

Smellincoffee,

Wow! What a great insight - I totally agree and find I enjoy most the books that continue to speak to me through the years.
