Running Haiku

Belmont Harbor
in December

Running before dawn this morning I noticed the placid lake with boats no more.  They have migrated to higher ground making way for the ice to come.

 The harbor is clear
Boats and masts have disappeared
Soon ice will be here

Running Haiku

Lincoln Park
 in November

It has been a while since I was out for a Sunday morning run, and even longer since my run inspired a new Haiku.  I hope you enjoy this impression from my November run in Lincoln Park.

Autumn

Color everywhere
Abounds, covering the ground
Now hushing my sound

November

Cold comes as wind blows
Soon there will be winter snows
Lake shining with ice

Running Haiku

Morning Muse

No wind for my Muse
Grayish clouds block the Sun peeking
Through with rainbow hues

Morning Path

A bicycler's legs
flash excitement in the sun
My path remains calm

Dawn

Running with the dawn
He receives the sun's first light
The moon still beams down

Poetry for Spring

Spring

Blossoms cover the ground
From lilacs in the morning
Spring slowly fades away
